LONDON. July 15. In the House of Commons, Mr MacDonald, replying to -Mr R. Lumley, said that Zaghlul Pasha had expressed his readiness to enter,- into negotiations with the British Government, but the date of meeting bad not yet been fixed. LONDON, July 15. The death is reported of Sir Sydney Russell-Wells, member for the University of London. Deceased, who was fifty-five years o, age, had a distinguished medical career, and was medical registrar of tS. George’s Hospital. For three years he was vice-chancellor of the University oi London, and represented it on the General Medical Council. He was first elected to Parliament in 1922. MELB OU RNE, July 15. Mr Bruce conferred with the State Ministers in regard to the proposed wheat pools and the Commonwealth attitude, but no definite proposals were submitted. Mr Bruce stated that the Federal Government would not entertain the idea of dealing with a number of separate pools. If it were disposed to recognise any pools at all the Government would only consider a Federal proposal.
