WRECK ON IRISH COAST. CREW MISSING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Reuter's Telegrams. LONDON, July 13. The crew of the Cork cattle steamer Lismore, nineteen persons all told, arc missing. The vessel was wrecked off the A Vex ford coast on Thursday vrlien en route to Liverpool, and the first news of the disaster was the washing ashore of a body. Carey, a survivor of the Lismore says that a list to port was noticed on Friday, hut nothing could be done to right the ship. the captain oi*dered the lifeboats to be lowered, but while this was being done the Lismore overturned. Care 3* was sucked under, and when he camo to the surface ho grasped a ship s hatch that was floating bj". and, with empty wooden cases, constructed a rude raft in the dark. He struggled in a rough sea for four hours until dawn, when he tied himself to the raft. He ate seaweed to appease his hunger. At last he was washed ashore thirty miles from the spot where the Lismore foundered. Most pathetic scenes were witnessed at Cork quay, the wives and children rf the missing men waiting for news of possible survivors.
