Both acpfced the notes as genuine only to scorer too late that they had been ■er trusting. _ Another Chinaman was more formate, as he unfolded the note and e tec ted the fraud. The would-be windier thereupon threw down half & town on the counter in payment of iis purchase, snatched up the note and decamped.
