WHAT IS SLANG?
A COUNCIL DISCUSSION. The City Council last evening was discussing the new site for the band rotunda, and Councillor E. IT. Andrews (the chairman of the Reserves Committee) was talking about an inspection of the sjx>t. That started it. Councillor Williams: I thought you said you were going to have a “•spot.” Councillor Andrews (after more interjections) : Air Mayor, 1 don’t know whether councillors are very dry, but they are very slangy. The Mayor : I didn’t hear any slang. Councillor O. Anderson : It isn’E slang; it is entertainment. Councillor Andrews: It is a slangy way of referring to a. very agreeable little matter.
