Zulch was one of the leading South Alrieuu cricketers before the war, being associated with such well-known performers as A. E. Vogler, G. A. Faulkiner, R. 0. Schwarz, A. D. Nourse and others. In 1009-10 he carried his bat for 43 through an innings in a test match against. England. He was associated with H. >V. Taylor in two century partnerships against England in 1*913-14. The first was o| 103 (Zulch 82, Taylor 70) at Johannesburg, and the second oi 129 (Zulch 60, laylor 87) at J*ort Elizabetli. In the season 1920-21 at Bloemfontein he earued the distinction of scoring two centuries in one match, making 183 and 125 for the Transvaal eleven against the Orange Free J?tate.
