SPINSTERS’ BALL.
An enjoyable evening was spent Li the Ardamino Hall on Tuesday evening, when the spinsters of Done gave a sue icssfui ball. The weather was perfect, and visitors were present from Pendarves, ' herfc■ey, Seafleld, Rakaia, Ashburton and Christchurch. Much credit is due co the secretary Miss P. Harrison, and the committee for their untii-iu«; efforts to make the evening a success. The hall was • beautifully decorated, the stage being fur- ' nished as a lounge. Music was provided by M'Donald's Jazz Band, extras by Miss Dorothy ShaVp and Miss Mary Lambie, and a vocal item by Mrs Struthers. A lucky spot waltz was won by Mias Bertha Richard?- Mr W. Carruther3, on behalf of the \isitors and bachelors, thanked the spinsters for their hospitality, and Mr M Kingsbury replied on behalf of the spinsters. The duties of MX', were carried out by Mr M. Kingsbury. The chaperones were Mrs Kingsbury, who wore trown crepe marocain. with bronze bead trimmings,. and Mrs D. M’Millan, weaving black marocain with trimmings of jet. and brilliants.
