Dr and Mrs A. Paterson left for Wellington on Saturday, to attend the New Zealand dental conference. Captain S. M’Gee, Command Paymaster for the Southern Military District, has been a patient in the Christchurch Hospital for several weeks Dr E. F. Bjyd and Nurse T. Butler have been appointed to the Cook Islands Public Servive. They will be statioued at Niue. Mr Blackstoe Smith, of San Francisco, who is representing a chain of the Linnard Hotels of the United States, is visiting Christchurch and is a guest at the United Service Hotel. The Rev John Paterson, who has accepted a cal! to St Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Wanganui, will preach his farewell sermons in Christchurch on Sunday, June 22. Air F. D. Wbibley has resigned the position of manager of the “Grey River Argus ” Company, and Mr J. O’Brien, M.P. is filling the position in the meantime pending the appointThe staff of H. F. Stevens gathered on Saturday for the purpose of making a presentation to Mr Stevens, prior to his departure for England. Air C. He will return to Christchurch at the end of this week to complete a series: of views he is taking here in conjunction with the Progress League. His trip is made for the purpose of bringing up to date views of the cities of the Dominion, to be used by the Government in publications and in other ways. A presentation was made ori Saturday at the New Zealand Farmers’ Association’s motor workshop to Air R. Reginaldt. from the employees, on his retirement from the staff of the association. Afr Woodward, the manager of the motor workshop, made the presentatioi, a case of razors and a shaving outfit, on behalf of the employees anri wished Air Reginault the best of luck for the future. Air Reginault suitably responded, thanking all the employees for the kindness they had shown to him during his tejjxi of office with the firm.
