(Before Mr E D. Mosley, S.M.) BY-LAXV CASES. Jefferey Grefor.v, for cycling on the footpath, was fined 10s and costs. James Hinchey, for causing a nuisance to arise on premises occupied by him, was fined :?0s and costs. ASSAULT CHARGE. Leu Nelly, charged with assaulting R. Loved ay on April 16 at Ohoka, was fined 20s and ordered to pay witnessed expenses. THEFT OF MONEY. Clarence Michael Woodward, on charges of stealing the sum of £34 5s 9d from Messrs R. Nicholls and W. Firth, Ooutts island, and J. Baker. Kaiapoi, elected to be dealt with summarily. He was convicted and sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour.
