LEAGUE RUGBY.

The fourth round of the League competition* wa.s played to-day under ideal condition*. There was again a very large attendance at. Sydenham Park to view a fine game between Marists A and Hornby. MAR IST A v. HORNRY. 'Hie play started evenly, and then from a free kick Fitzgerald opened the wan had to retire with au injury to an eye. Hrosnahan got his aide out of a lot of trouble. The game ended with the Bcores: MARIST . . . SIXTEEN HORNBY .... NIL Referee—Mr T. Kirton. ADDINGTON v. WOOL STON. The game between Addington and Woolston was played on Addington Reserve. Adiington muuo the pace willing at the start, and before long a try was scored by It. Watts, and this was followed shortly afterwards by a. scored by C. H. Goodman. Watts got the ball again and converted his own try. The next score for Addington came from T. Green. 'J his was converted by A. M’Lood. U. H. Goodman again got across. Just before half time another try was scored for Addington by Goodman. M'Leod converted. liulf time score:— Addington 24, Woolston .0. At half time the game was declared finished. MAItISTS B v. LIN WOOD. Marists B kicked off, and immediately assumed the offensive. Batchelor got the ball after a scrum, and passed to M'Donald, who scored wide out. Marists B got the ball from a scrum, and BBeehan was collared after a good run, but Lynsisy got over. Blazey converted. A minute lat;r Blazey got the ball from Lynsky l scored. Less than a minute elapsed befon Rutherford got over again. Half-time score:— Marists B 14, Linwood 0. From the kick-off, Marists B attacked, and Bateman got over. Rutherford then got through, placing the ball between the poets. A few minutes later. Bateman took the ball at hia toe and scored. Final scores:— MARISTS B . TWENTI'-THREE LINWOOD . . . . NIL THIRD GRADE. Linwood beat Addington by four points to nil. Desmond kicked two penalty goals. Heathcote 23, beat Waimairi 8.
