A cable message from Sydney states that Mr J. A. Elder has been appointed Commissioner for Australia in the United States, in succession of Mr Donald M'KinJnon. Mr Elder represented the Associated Chambers of Commerce on the Commonwealth Board of Trade and in 1919, in an honorary capacity, investigated trade problem* in London.
