FRUIT FOR THE FLEET.

HOW THE SHIPS ARE SUPPLIED. Searching for fruit for the three cruisers whilst they were at Lyttelton, the responsible officers visited every likely fruit f-hop in Christchurch. Tho quest ended at Shaw’s, 165 Cashel Street. They .- anted fruit of the first quality. Nothing else would do. They iound it at Shaw’s, so H.M.’s ships Delhi. Dragon, and Danae were supplied with delectable apples, oranges, bananas, etc, end loads of fresli vegetables, by the most enterprising fruiterer in Christcnurch. The ship’s buyers expressed themselves as delighted with the oig quantities of high-grade fruits always available, and promptly supplied. lou will be just as well supplied here. The display is splendid always. You see what you buy. The prices are low. Some are quoted : here— all for first-grade produce of the 'best orchards and gardens.
