The jury in the first series of tho trotting cases, which was concluded yesterday, had been kepi together under police guard during the hearing of the case, which extended over two days. When the jury returned yesterday afternoon with a verdict, the foreman, addressing his Honor, said they wished to express their thanks to the sheriff, the Court officials and the police tor the courtesy extended t»> them during the trying time of the case, and also to the proprietor of the Dominion Hotel for the hospitality and attention while they were away from their homes.
