ASSOCIATION GAME. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. May 16 At a meeting of the Council of the Football Association, it was stated that the cost of bringing a team from England next year would be £II,OOO allocated as follows:—New South Wales and New Zealand. £3OOO each; to Queensland £2OOO. Victoria. South Australia and West Australia £IOOO each A letter was received from the secretary of the Canadian Football Association which explained how a hitch arose in the negotiations with New Zealand The invitation cabled from New Zealand was telephoned to him as from Australia, and it. was not till later that was found to be / front New Zealand Not having heard meanwhile from New Zealand, it was supposed that the latter had let it drop, and the arrangements were concluded with Australia The secretary said that he was sorry bis association had been the cause of disagreement and hoped the differences would be healed.
