BIG FINES FOR BOOKMAKERS.

Pck Pusa Association. NAPIER, May 15. 11l the Police Court this morning reserved judgment was given by Mr K. \V. Dwyer, S.M., in the cases where James Golding. W. Hutton. J B Cotloss, A. E, Elwood, J. Robinson, Alvert Orange and a Chinaman named Willie Cum were all charged with illegal presence on premises maintained as a common gaming house, and with various offences in coimecstiou with various offences in connection with the carrying on of an illegal book making establishment.

Except in the case of Orange, all the charges were upheld. Golding was lined altogether £2OO, Hutton £IOO, Corless £IOO, Elwood £IOO and Robinson £IOO, while Cum was lined £5. Security for appeal was lodged.
