Sapsford; Mrs Puraphrev plays Mrs Early; Miss Clements plays Miss V. Stewart. HORORATA CLUB. Good weather wav, experienced for the opening day of the Hororata Golf Club which took plaoe on Saturday. There was a good attendance of members, whicn augurs well for the success of the season. In the absence of the patron (Mr Godfrey Hall) Mr. D. Rutherford declared the season ooen. following which afternoon tea was dispensed by the lady members. A stroke handicap was nlaved off the results not yet being available. HAGLEY LADIES’ CLUB. A Flag Match was played on Tuesday afternoon for & prize presented by Mrs Denshire, and was won by Mies Mavis Reese. CHRISTCHURCH LADIES* CLUB. QUALIFYING ROUND FOR THE WILKIN CUP. The Christchurch Ladies’ Club played the qualifying round of the Wilkin Cup at Shirley yesterday. The weather was perfect, warm and without a suspicion of wind. Some excellent scores were returned, especially Miss Maberley Beadel s 84 gross. She went out in 40, and returned in 44. playing just to her handicap (7). There was a large entrj-, and great interest was displayed. The • following seven players qualified, and will play off, American Tournament match play:—

Others playing were Mrs Vernon. Mrs Duncan, Mrs Tosswill. Mrs Brisled, Mrs Green, Mrs Lythgoe, Mrs Comerford, Mrs Sims. Mrs Banka. Mrs Roland Fisher, Mrs Langford, Miss LoCren, Miss Ronaldson, Mrs Henry Wood, Mrs Robbie. Mrs Mills. Mis* Trolove. Mrs Maurice Loqisson. In conjunction with the above competition a tie was played off between Miss Dixon and Miss Chrystall for the best gross score handed in during the recent Easter Tournament It resulted in a win for Misr Dixon, with 85 gross against Miss OhrvstpJl's 94 floss. The same tie was played twice before, aud iu both cases further ties resulted.
