ATHLETICS.
CANTERBURY CENTRE OF N.Z.A A.A. The Canterbury Centre of the New Zealaud Amateur Athletic Association met last evening. Mr C. S. M'Cully presiding. The question of professional cycling being held iu conjunction with amateur athletics was discussed, reference being made to the necessity for the amateur Lody paying more attention to cycling. A sub-committee was appointed to ascertain the support likely to be forthcoming for amateur cycling. It was agreed to support the application of the Snorts Protection Association for the remission of tho amusement tax. Ways and means of raising funds for the centre were discussed, and stvera schemes were suggested. It was agreed to start the campaign by holding a ,uinble sale, 0:11(1 preliminary arrangements i . this end were made.
