WINTER SHOW.

OPENED AT SHOW GROUNDS IN BEAUTIFUL WEATHER. The Canterbury Agricultural and Association’s Winter Show opened to-day. In weather more like a day in t-h© late months of spring, rather than a day in the first month of winter, th© grounds presented a pictur© that was pleasing to the eye. Th© sward was as green as an August crop. YVhitetopped tents dotted each side of €h© main drive, with busy groups of workers erecting stands whereon to display their wares. At one end a row of purveyors of cheap jewellery and owners of “ hoopla-” rings announced, the quality and quantity of their offerings. The usual side shows were to be seen with th© owners in front urging all and sundry to enter. Judging took place during th© day, the entries in all classes Being well up to standard.
