TO-DAY’S MEETING. | The Christchurch Presbytery met in St , Paul's Schoolroom to-day. the Rev AV. I Tanner. Moderator, presiding. The moderator welcomed the Rev .1. S. j Young, who ha*, been appointed minister ; at New Brighton. A spec's 1 commission appointed to in-j quire into redistribution at Papa nui, Belfast and Mairehau reported that it had 1 been suggested that on assistant should i be appointed for twelve months, with al- i ternative suggestions that Belfast, Daniel s Road and Mairehau should be a home 1 mission district, an assistant to be nprecommended that, before redistribution was taken in hand, the Presbytery should wait until services were begun ;;t Daniel's Road end the financial position lad improved. The Rev .T. Paterson said that the finding of the commission was »Eat the financial position at present d’d not warrant any drastic redistribution, but a student assistant should be appointed t-o preach alternatively at Papanui and Belfast.
