Butter- The market, continues quiet, with fair inquiry. Germany is buying large quantities of Danish. Official quotations New Zealand—Salted, finest 166 s to 172* per ewt ()s Gd to Is &jd per lb): unsalted, 176 s to 182 a pe.r cwt (1a (kfd to 7*d per lb)other qualities. 150 a to 168 s per cwt Cls 2J to Is »|d per lb). Australian—Salted, finest 156 s to 160 s per cwt (Is 4|d to Is oiid per lb); unsalted. 162 s to 166 s per cwt (Is fi|d to Is 6|d per lbi, other qualities, salted 124* to 152 s per cwt Hs Hd to Is 4id per lb), unealted 180 s to 156 s per cwt. Ils 2d to Is 4jd per Ih). Argentine—l46s to 152 s per owt (Is Sjd to Is 4id per lb), exceptional 154 s per owt (Is 4jd per lb); other qualities. 180 s to 144 s per cwt (Ip 2d to Is 3id per lb). Danish—Market, steady. 206 sto 212 s per cwt Us 10id to Is 10|d per lb). Cheese—The holding of large quantities ha? had a depressing effect, and the Cana dian new season's make is now being offered forward. English is scarce. There is a steady demand for New Zealand available goods. Official quotations are: — English—Finest farmers’ 140 s to 145 s up to 148 s rer owt (Is Sd to Is 4d per lb). New Zealand—Coloured and white 84s t> 86s per cwt (3d to 9J)d per lb). Shipments of New Zealand produee arrived this week per s.s. Kia Ora. Kumara and Westmoreland, and last week by thne Remuera HEMP. The Manila market, was quiet at the beginning of the week, but closed firm. No business is reported. J grade April-Junc shipments are quoted at £3B sellers. May July shipments £37 ios and value. The New Zealand market is unchanged. WOOL. The sales continue with good attendance and active support at last prioea. PEAS. Peas—Blue: The consumptive demand is better for all descriptions. Present values Japanese—On passage £2l 10s per ton c.i.f.. April-May shipments £2O. Small Baltic—April-May shipments £2O. Dutch—Hand-picked. April-May ship ments £2l 10*. Tasmanian—On passage £3O. April-May shipments £lB 10s. spot selling at £2l 10s to £22 ex store. New Zealand—Spot nominally £l7 to £l9. MAPLE. Supplies art plentiful, and New Zealand supplies are excessive. English, selling at 55s per quarter; New Zealand, offered at 70s to 80s; Tasmanian, best 85s to 90s ex store. BEANS. The market is qttiet, with a fair trade for choice winter and spring crops at, 49s 6d and 60s per quarter, small round 70s COCKSFOOT. Danish is not offering. Quotations for small lots, 66s tp 92* per ewt. FRUIT. The balance of the Cornwall shipment of apples is practically disposed of at prices similar to those given laid week with tnc exception of Adam's Pearmains. Bibston Pippins and Golden Pippins, which were severely attacked by frost and heat, and had to be dispqg&d of at the tollowiug prices;—Adam’s cearmain 6b to 6s per case, Bibston Pippin 2s to 8s per case. Golden Pippin 5s per case. The s.s. Hororata is due to-day (May 10). Australian Apples— j tetter varieties of all descriptions have been sold for 5s Gd s pei case. E(^GS The market is quiet, with a slow demand. English, Irish. Danish and Dutch. 13s 6d to 15s 3d per lone: 100; Styrian. Lithuanian. Italian and Belgian. 13s to 14s per long 100: Irish duck eggs, Dutch duck eggs, 13s 6d to 14s per long 100.
