A SAD CASE.
GIRL’S PECULIAR ACT. * FOUND IN BATH WITH THROAT CUT. nected with the case of Gwitlia King, aged twenty, who was found in the bath at her residence at 276, Hereford Street, yesterday afternoon with her legs tied together with a. piece of rope and her throat lacerated. She is stated to have been suffering for some time past with nervous trouble, and yesterday morning she was left in bed by her parents. Later in the day a relative called at the house,, and, hearing water running in the bathroom, made investigations, with the result that the young woman was found under the circumstances stated. Apparently she had got into the bath, tied the rope round her legs, turned on the water and then lacerated her throat. Fortunately her head -was above the water when she was discovered, thus saving her lroni drowning. The girl was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where she is progressing favourably.
