SOME GOOD PLAYERS.”

! MR OLLIVIER’S VIEWS. Mr G. Oilivier. who vt sited the Avon- • Bide courts on which the games were flayed, said that, he was favourably impressed with the tennis. He declared that the play taken all round was very much better than he had expected. He raid that the mistake? were not those «f beginners, being mainly errors in tactics The boys generally had a nice free style and he was certain that, there wa a ample material from which players might be made. What they wanted however, waa sound, systematic ooaching. There was a number of boys who certainly would make exceptionally good players if they had the necessary coaching. In order that the boys should not be denied this training Mr Oilivier suggested that several of the better players should bo taken in hand by an acknowledged coach. He said that he was quite prepared to undertake this duty and was willing to take a number of the lads on Saturday mornings.
