THE ARCHBISHOP’S FOOT.
SUFFERS UNDER FALLING WEIGHT.
Archbishop Julius stepped out of his little motor-car and crossed the road slowly and painfully, with a decided limp. His left foot was shod in a homely-looking carpet slipper, fitted more for the quiet fireside in the evening than for the busy streets of the city. “Somebody been knocking me about ?” he said, in reply to a question in those terms. “ No, I only dropped six. pounds of iron on my foot.” “There’s nothing else the matter, then?” was the next question. “Nothing else,” said His Grace. “But it’s quite enough!” And he limped on his way cheerfully.
