EXTREME MENTAL DEPRESSION.

SAD SUICIDE CASE. Per Prbss Association DUNEDIN, December 24. At the inquest on Harold Napthali, who was found hanging, the Coroner, Mr H. W. Bundle, said that he knew deceased, who was a man of a bright and cheery temperament. From inquiries made, it seemed that an incident happened on a boat on which deceased was returning to New Zealand after a trip to the Old Country which unduly affected him Deceased had persuaded a- passenger to wear a fancy costume which unfortunately caught fire, the passenger dying. Deceased had carried the man and was with him ‘ when he died. This incident seemed to have preyed upon Nipthali’s mind and he was not in good health when he came back. He became depressed and his death was the result of that. There was no financial worries of any kind. The Coroner leturned a verdict of suicide while in a state of extreme mental depress ion..
