BRITISH POLITICAL CRISIS. MR RAMSAY MACDONALD SUGGESTS “ WANGLING.” By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn. (Received December 24, 0.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 23. The political correspondent of the “ Sunday Times ” says that Mr Baldwin feels acutely the misfortunes he has brought on the Conservative Party, and will intimate to his supporters that he is prepared to resign the leadership. On that point, however, he will be reassured, for there is no desire to swop horses while crossing the stream. Mi; Ramsay Macdonald, at Elgin, said that he was sorry that he could not tell them what was about to happen, because he was not sure that the Labour Party was going to get fair play. He had a suspicion that between January 5 and January 8 there was going to be an attempt made to “ wangle ” the constitution, so that democracy might not have fair play.
