LATE SOCIAL NEWS.
Mrs T. W. Lewis and family left today for the West Coast. Miss Ena Gee (Remuera. 1 Auckland) is on a visit to Christchurch, and is thp guest of her aunt, Mrs E. J. Murray. St Elmo. Judge and Mrs M’Gregor and family are arriving from Wellington to-day and will stay at St Elmo. Amongst the recent arrivals at St Elmo are v ' —Mr and Mrs C. Miljef (Orari), Mrs and Miss B.agge (Blenheim), Mrs Whittaker and family (Singapore), Mr and Mrs Richards (Wei lington), Mrs and-Miss Poole (Invercargill), Mr and Mrs Watson and Miss Watson (Nelson*, Mr and Mrs Clements and family (Hokitika), Mr and Mrs Osborne and family (Wellington), Mr and Mrs Fussell (Wellington). . At the Beresfprd on Thursday morning Mrs P. W. Sowden, of Hereford Street! was the hortess at a morning tea given as a farewell to Mrs T. Meredith, who leaves shortly for England, where she will pursue her musical studies. The tables were beautifully decorated with pale pink sweet peas and poppies and gvpsophila. Amongst the guests were Mesdames S. Butler, W. J. Hunter, Riissell, J. Holmes, T. D. Kendall, W. daekay, T. Yorath, L. Corson, Misses M. Kimber,, M. Russell and N. Macleod Smith.
