BURWOOD QUEEN CARNIVAL.

During the last two months the children of the Burwood Schoof have interested themselves in a queen carnival to raise funds towards a swimming bath. There were live candidates selected by. the children themselves* who represented different parts of the district. The contest was fought out in the best of spirits, each district N supporting its rival in any function that was organised. The final flying of Hags, which took place at the school gave Naomi Bowden, the Qucensbury Street candidate, the pride 'of place with Phyllis Robinson, of Queen Street, very close up, and May Southon, Amy Barnett and Dorothy Good following. The amount raised was £147, and as the expenditure is very small the fund has a good start.
