“ the GHOST PATROL ” AND “RIDERS OF VENGEANCE.” George Nichols, Ralph Graves and Bessie Love, ae featured in “ The Ghost Patrol.” a Lniversnl poduction which commences at the Strand t.o-dav. Ihe story centres round “Don ” Dorgun (George Nichols) who for thirty years had patrolled a beat in “Little Hell, ’ and through a spirit of understanding and affection, kept peace in the turbulent district.. Terry Rafferty, one of the idlers' of the zone, had fallen m love with Effie Kuglor, and was hard at. work in an effort to win her father’s conaent to his marriage. Terry, in desPair i goes out and gets drunk and assaults the political boss of the district and is sent to prison for two years. A new police commissioner decides Don is too old for the job and retires him. The new patrolman uses his club freely and fails to get results, so Don puts on ns old uniform and goes forth to heip lus people. Moving in the shadows of the night, he becomes known as “The Ghost Patrol.” Terry is released from prison and us at once slugged by a gang leader. How lie is found by “Don” and eventually wins the girl of his heart, and how “Don” himself is reinstated on his old job, but. as a captain, lorm a fitting climax to the store. The second big feature is “Riders of Vengeance,” with Harry Carey as the star. The story details the life of a man who lived in the days when might was right and nine points of the law rested in tho barrel of a gun. Coming from his marriage ceremony and resting for a moment on the steps of the church door, his wife of hut a few moments his father, mother and brother are shot dead by enemy cattlemen. Swearing vengeance on those guilty for this dastardly crime, he disappears into the desert and nothing was heard of him until one day he rode into the town, and nailed on to a post a notice bearing the names of those men he wanted Dramatic and realistic are the scenes dealing with the way in which Cheyenne Harry seeks retribution for the crime committed long ago.
