A Eos Angeles telegram states that Helen La jVla.ie is asking for a divorce from her husband, who is a motion picture director and theatre manager. She claims that La Maie negotiated lour years ago with a. wealthy Negro of the Mexican underworld to eell her for 500.000 dollars, of which he offered to give her 150.000 dollars if she consented. He then became violently Bngry because she demurred.
