MAN SENT TO GAOL. P*r Prbss Association. AVHAKATANE, December 11. AVilliam AVright, aged, thirty-live, single, was charged at the Police Court with converting a mare, saddle and bridle to his own use, and three other charges of theft from settlers. Ho pleaded guilty, and was .sentenced to ono month’s imprisonment and to twelve months’ reformative treatment. Wright was further charged with that, on December 1 at Waimana, he did wound a mare, the property of Adam Te AVhetu. by means of a corros ivo substance. On the application of the police, the case was adjourned for one week.
