The Manila market opened firm but weakened towards the week-end, closing dull. -" .T ” grade sold at £33 15s per ton. “G’’ grade quoted at buyers £3B per ton. New Zealand market unchanged and no business reported. WOOL. The sales were suspended on account of the election until Monday. FRUIT. The apple market is firmer and shipments are not as large as was anticipated. Oregon Newton apples lls to 13s 6d: Oregon Jonathans 8s to 10s 6d; British Columbian Cox’s Orange 20s to 24s British Columbian Delicious 9s 6d to 10s. VERY SATISFACTORY YEAR. AUCKLAND. December 11. At the annual meeting of the Stock Exchange, Mr G. C. Creagh. the chairman, said that the year had been very satisfactory, both to brokers and to the public. There was evidence that there was ample money in the Dominion and issues of shares had been taken up freely, justifying their looking forward with hopefulness and confidence. Mr Creagh was re-elected chairman.
