FLAMES OF PASSION ” AND “ THE BEAR CAT.”
A complete change of pictures and music will be presented at the Queen’s Theatre commencing to-day. The musical programme sleeted by Mr H. G. Glaysher is a particularly good one and should add greatly to the entertainment. The overture will be “ Crusader.” while for the entr’acte •‘Carolina Mammy ” will be rendered. Other numbers are “Rigoletto,” •‘ Keromors Prelude from opera Cyrano,” ‘•Romance” (Rubenstein), “Tangled Tunes.’’ “A Day in Paris” and the latest fox trots. The outstanding picture will he “ Flames of Passion.” the latst Fox offering with an all-star cast. This picture has all the elements that go to make perfect screen entertainment.. There is a thrill in each thousand feet of the picture. As thrilling as these incidents are they are as nothing in comparison with the climax A huge forest, fire is shown spreading over miles of country. It is here that the hero rescues his love and carries her to safety&nd the villain of the picture meets a tragic end. There is not a dull moment in the picture. The second attraction will be. m universal picture “The Bear Cat” in which the clever and likable Hoot Gibson, is featured. It is a story of the far AVefrt. Gibson has a splendid part and one that gives kim plenty, of .scope for kintf of
erick Stanley, William J. Sorelle, John Carr and Jane .Jennings. The supporting subjects include * Monte Banks comedy entitled “ Newly Married,” a Burton Holmes travelogue and the latest gazette. There w r ill also be a special attraction depicting the wonderful horße race between Zev and Papyrus. This picture shows the great race from start to finishA splendid musical programme has been arranged by Mr Bellingham, F.S.M., for Everybody’s “ Select ” Orchestra. Chief among the items are the following Overture, “ L’lmpresario ” (Mozart) : suites, “ Callirhoe ” (Chaminade), ‘‘Divertissement” (Lalo). ballet music, “Norwegian Uanscs” (Grieg). Sylvia” (Delibes); entr’acte “ Shanghai ” (Mayer) ; light selections. “Melodies” (Sullivan), “Yeoman of the Guard” (Sullivan); novelty waltz. “ Magic Moon ” (O’Hagan), “ That Haunting Waltz” (Goldstein).
