CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Mr Wyvem Wilson, S.M.) DR V NK EX NESS. Eldred Robert Faull, on a oharge of drunkenness, was lined 10s. in deault forty-eight, hours’ imprisonment. For committing a breach of his prohibition order lie was fined 40s, in default three days’ imprisonment. Robert James Watson Mitchell was also charged with drunkenness and a breach of his prohibition order. He was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment on the first charge and 40s, in default three days’ on the second. REMANDED. Matilda Sarah Streeter was charged with failing to maintain her child, the amount of arrears being £92. She pleaded not guilty and was remanded till Tuesday next. BY-LAW CASES. Ronald Bullivant. Jean Lumsden, Austin Semmons and Clay Starkey were each fined lO? for cycling without lights. For similar offences. Patrick Ryan and John Mullahy were fined 20s. Albert Landsdown was fined 20s lor having no light and os for cycling on x footpath. Kenneth Dow, for riding a motorcycle without a light, was fined 20s. For not having a certificate of ability, he. was fined 40s.
John Hutton Grigg was fined 40s. for speeding. Joseph T. Knight, was fined 5s for lbaving a car unattended. Noel Lloyd was fined os for not chaining tlm wheel of his cart. Archie Munroe was fined 20s for driving a motor lorry with no lights. Henry Rigby was fined 40s for not having a certificate of ability to drive a motor-cycle. James Edward At. Rountree was fined 20s for driving a horso and trap without lights. R. Atkinson, for speeding, was fined 40s. George Andrews was fined .20s for permitting a person to drive a motorcycle without a certificate. Samuel J. Archbold, who had left x car unattended'’ in Worcester Street., was fined 10s. For similar offences .E-. Anderson. Herbert Browning and Thomas H. Daker were lined os. Alfred W. Bun ton was fined 10s for using an unregistered motor-car. and 40s for 1 driving without a certificate. Donald Cunliffe was fined 10s for driving a. licensed vehicle when he was not licensed. O. Crutchley was fine<> 40s for plying for hire without a license. Stanley Clarke, for speeding on Oxford Terrace, was fined 40s. Frederick Freeman and Derek Gould were fined 10s each for leaving their cars at night- unattended. F. Garnett was fined os for leaving a car unattended. William Harrison was fined 40s for riding a motor-cycle without having a certificate of ability. / Charles H". Knight was fined 20s for driving a car without having a certificate of ability. Melville Pengel'ly was fined 40s for riding a motor-cycle without a certificate of ability. Percy Scott Ramsay was fined os lor leaving a car unattended. Alfred Rhodes, for driving a, cab at a dangerous speed and for driving past a standing tram, was fined 10s for each offence. Mrs Agnes Wane-hop was fined os for leaving a car unattended. INSANITARY PREMISES. , Uillias Constance Harris was charged (1) with permitting a building at In. North Road, Papanui. to be occupied as a dwelling without having made provision for an adequate supply of water ; (2) with having suffered a nuisance to continue on the premises; (3) with having permitted a drain to be m a state dangerous to health : (4) with failing to ’provide ai proper convenience. A fine of 40s was imposed in each case, the Magistrate remarking that such conditions were likely to give rise to fever.
