Ayala, a famous Belgian racehorse, aged twenty-four years, died on the operating table while Dr Yoronoff was rejuvenating him- The horse took the anaesthetic badly and death was due to violent resistance, during which he fractured his pelvis. This was not noticed by the surgeons, several of whom were present, and internal haemorrhage was caused by a splinter of bone piercing the vein, ending fatally. A gland had been removed from a young liorse. Quakeridge. prior to the transfer, when it was discovered that Ayala had stopped breathing.
