WRITING COMPETITION.
FOR THIRD STANDARD. The fourth writing competition promoted by the '* Star " is for Third Standard pupils in Canterbury and Westland schools. The competitors are requested to write the following verse on ordinary writing or exercise book paper: There -was a jolly miller once Lived on the river Dee: o He worked and sang from morn till night No lark more blithe than he. Competitors should mark their entries “ Writing competition." and send them to the Editor of the “ Star." Entries must be received by November 10. ifis present competition is open to all Third Standard pupils in Canterbury and Westland schools. Prizes will be 10s, os and 2s 6d.
