Tho final of thc club championship of the Miramar Ladies’ Golf Club was played last week, when Miss Gambvill heat Mrs Cooke 3 up and 1 to piny. The match was keenly contested, Mrs Cooke putting up a good fight against the champion.

The junior club championships <>l the Miramar Ladies Club also provided a close finish between Miss Plimmer and Mrs Nagle, the former winning hy 2 up on the eighteenth green. There was a, very large attendance of players. members and their friends. A bogev match played in tho morning was won by Miss Carr, a new player on the limit handicap, who finished 3 down on bogey. Others who handed in good cards wore Miss Jervis and Miss Williams 0 down, Mrs Chesney and Mrs Spiers 6 down. A Canadian foursome was played during the afternoon and was won by Miss W lllioms and Miss Bunny, who finished 2 up. The next best pair were Mrs Chesney and* Mrs Spiers, all square. pionship of the Auckland Ladies’ Golf Club, Miss M. Noakes beat Mrs H. Hanna 2 up. At Hokitika last week a match was played between the Ladies’ and Aten’s . Golf Clubs, the former receiving lire strokes in addition to tiic difference in handicaps. The teams were twelve aside and the result was: Ladies 7 games. Men 15 games. Two games were all square. The Nelson Ladies* Golf Club, after the most- successful year it has so far experienced, closed its season last week, when a series of competitions uas gone through. The one-club , match played during the day was won by Mrs Cock, for which Aliss Curtis presented a beautiful glazed china bowl. The putting competition was won by AIGs Eileen Hair.
