FASHION NOVELTIES FROM PARIS.

The very latest novelty is the long neck chain which matches the ultra" long ear-rings. And some of the newest ear-rings are long, 1 can assure you. and. needless to .say, they do not suit everyone. Nevertheless these ornaments are becoming more and more fashionable, and they are not—necessarily—expensive. They may be. for example, of imitation jade combined with chains of seed pearls, or large rings of red coral swung from little chains of cut jet beads, with a coral button to rest on the lobe on the ear. * As soon as you return from your summer holidays you will have, to consider the question of elaborate feathers for your winter hats. Exaggeratedly long and full ostrich feathers are to be worn, and some cf the advance models I have already seen are aweinspiring, being trimmed with enormous feathers, supple and £ery lightly curled, swinging to and fro under the brim at one side, th© tip reaching to the waist line. The fly-away cape which looks, from the back, like bat wings has achieved such a success at Deauville that velvet, and even fur, models of the same genre are being shown in Paris in anticipation of autumn and winter needs. A delightful example was made of nutbrown crepe de chine of heavy quality, knife pleated and collared with nutbrewn ermine, long lengths of brown satin ribbons holding the little garment in place. The newest colour scheme is lemonyellow and “fondant'" rose. Nevertheless rich, dark-coloured brocade will he much used for suits during the winter. Brebe —a soft feather used years ago for neckties —has emerged from a long seclusion. It is now worn tinted in pastel shades.
