ADDINGTON SCHOOL.

FETE FOR PICNIC FUND. Parents, friends and children spent a pleasant time in tho Addington School grounds on Saturday afternoon, when an open-air fete was held in aid of the picnic fund. Shrubs and trees mostly were used for the stalls, which held produce, fancy work, flowers, vegetables, sweets and manv other articles. There were games of skill and competitions, and a baby show. A feature of the arrangements was a procession of about 200 children, in fancy dress, with decorated bicycles and perambulators. The procession was marshalled in the Jerrokl Street Reserve, about half a mile from the school, and marched along several streets to the school grounds. Teachers and members of the School Committee were in attendance. Amongst the workers were Air G. Wear (chairman), and the following members of the committee :—Airs Robb. Airs Martin, Alessrs H. AVorrall, S. J. S. Hewitt, Barnett, C. Fisk. A. E. Streeter ar.d T. Greig, and Air R. B. Clarke (headmaster). Air Templeton. in Highland costume, played selections on the pipes.
