COAL CONFERENCE. lIEEFTON, October 24. The conference regarding the coal dispute is sitting at Reofton to-day. The Hon U. J. Anderson, Minister of Mines, is chairman, and there aro five representatives for miners aud mine owners. Proceedings have been held in private. Up t-o the luncheon adjournment no settlement- was in sight. COMMITTED FOB SENTENCE. J. Barwald, who pleaded guilty a. the Court this afternoon to a charge of having had carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of sixteen, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
