Mr Samuel Fyfe, a well known resident of Akaroa. whilst driving through the town on Tuesday morning, wa® thrown from his cart. His injuries ar© not thought to be serious. GUARD FALLS FROM TRAIN. Pratt Press Association. DUNEDIN, October 12. AVilfrid \ ivian Gain, married, an assistant guard on th e Dunedin-Crom-Avell train, lell in some way from tli© train in the C'nrersham Tunnel this morning. He was missed at Burnside and train movements were stopped. Gain was found severely injured lying with his head on the down rails. He was removed to the hospital. FRACTURED LEG. H. Lam tort, a youth aged sixteen, residing at 18. Walker Street. while playing outside the West Christchurch school, ran into a bicycle on the road. He fell and fractured bis right- leg. He was admitted to the Hospital at 1.15 yesterday afternoon, and last evening ho was reported to be progressing favourably.
