RANNERDALE HOME INCIDENT.
WHO PAYS FOR CASES? Mr Tv. T. Toss-will, secretary of the Hannerdalo Home, stated this morning that nothing further had been done in regard to the rase of the man discharged from the home without the knowledge of the management committee. He said that tho matter would be brought before a meeting of the committee next TuesHav, when a decision would probably he arrived at. At a meeting of the executive of the Canterbury Patriotic Fund on Wednesday, Mr Leadley stated that he underetod that the man had been discharged by th© instructions of an officer of the Defence Department. The question, was raised as to whether the military authorities had the right to discharga the man from the home. Mr Toss will stated to-day that the military authorities paid the current expenses incurred in connection with the maintenance of the inmates, but' the Patriotic Fund had provided the home, and paid the capital expenditure and also the cost of keeping the grounds and buildings in order.
