HIGHWAY DISTRICTS.
PUTTING THE ACT INTO OPERATION. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. September 29. The Main Highways Board decided to divide the Dominion into eighteen highways districts for the purposes of administering the Main Highways Act. The South Island districts are No. 11 —Gollingwood, Takaka. Waimea, Sounds, Marlborough and Murchison. No. 12 —Buller, Inangahua, Grey and W estland. No. 18- —Awatere. Kaikoura. Amuri, Cheviot and Waipara. No. 14—Tawera, Oxford. Ashley, Kowai, R-angiora. Eyre. Waimairi, Heatpeote. Paparua. Halswell, Mount Herbert, Akaroa, Wairewa, Springs, Ellesmere, Malvern and Selwyn. No. 1~> —Ashburton, Geraldine. Mackenzie, Levels, Waimate and Waitaki. No. 16—Maniototo, Vincent, Lakes, Waihemo and Waikouaiti. No. 17—Peninsula, Taieri, Tuapeka, Bruce and Cluthn. No. 18—Southland. Wallace and Fiord.
