SAWDUST IN RIVER.
TIMBER MILL FINED. Pitr Press Association-. WELLINGTON. September 29. Under the Fisheries Act. the Junction Sawmill Company at Upper Hutt was charged at the Magistrate’s Court by the Acclimatisation Society with al lowing sawdust to enter the Akatarawa stream.
Counsel said that the whole output of sawdust was discharged into the river, but this was contrary to instructions to the comoanv’s employees. The firm was fined £3 and costs.
