A York critic spoke in praise af “ Rrajrs,” a picture version of a Charles Norris novel, and was promptly taken to tafV b*r * ?mmbev of correspondent® who stated that the picture bore little relation to the story: that the whole point of the original story w*ns lost and that rhe theme was sentimentalised beyond recognition. The critic retorted that he had not read the novel. All he was concerned with was the picture, which he liked immensely. and which he strongly urevd pactwre patrons to see So far net T know.” he wrote. “ there is no law compelling movie critics tn rend books.”
