TO-DAY’S GAMES. SENIOR GRADE. The third round of matches was played to-day. Results CHRISTCHURCH V. SYDENHAM. Playing at Lancaster Park, the ground was heavy aud slippery. Mifi-fleld play followed until half-rime. Sydenham 1, Christchurch 1. Sydenham attacked with vigour, but Cameron saved cleverly and once again t-iie Sydenham goal was in danger until Snooks c ton red. Christchurch returned, and a shot by Maun was brilliantly stopped by Snooks. Sydenham took charge, and a combined rush gave Sheriffs a chance to centre hard. Butterfield gained possession in the circle, and evened the score with a hot shot. Sydenham 2, Christchurch 2. A fine piece of aolo ploy by Sherriffs looked like a score for Sydenham. but he was unsupported and Woods cleared easily. Sydenham improved. and had the better of the play for the final ten minutes of the game, which ended in a draw. SYDENHAM TWO CHRISTCHURCH TWO Referee: Mr R Gracie.
TECHNICAL V. ST. ALBANS. This match was played at Enaor’s BoM, the teams taking the field as follows: St Albans—Goal, T. Luxton; backs, M. Templeton and A. Rattray; halves, P. Hill, G. ivla-urier and A. Small; forwards, F. Faukner, C. Franklin, C. Holland and H. Hale. Technical:—Goal, A. Line; backs. S. Morris and J. M'Cracken; halves. J. Hill, H. Pearce and M’Kay; forwards, R. Willett, B. Edgingtori, W. Gracie. C. Steer© amt G. Calvert. St Albans had the better of the opening exchange. A good opportunity wae lost through Fauikener being offside. Play settled in the St Albans twenty-five, but a hue solo effort by Holland took play to the other end. St Aluans continued to press, and Pearce was forced to concede a corner. From the resultant hit Faulkner put in a hot shot which was saved by Line at the expense of another corner. Play was confined to the Technical circle, and Faulkner put in a fast rising Bhot, which was brilliantly saved by Line. A passing rush by the Technical forwards had St Albans in difficulties, but Manner finally relieved with a long hit. Calvert put in a useful run down the left wing for Technical and centred well, but, the shot, went wide. A melee in the Technical circle saw Franklin poke the ball into the net. Half time was called without further addition to the score. St Albans 1, Technical 0. After the interval St Albans took charge, and C. Franklin scored his second goal. St Albans 2, Technical 0. A fast run by Gracie saw that player beat Luxton with a fast ground shot. St Albans 2. Technical 1- St Albans rushed play to the Technical circle, and Franklin again found the net. St Albans 3, Technical 1. The Technical forwards initiated a passing rush, and Luxton was called upon to stop » iaoi one from Willett. Play remained la the St Albans circle, and Luxton saved by kicking out. 8t Albans then forced two corners. Gracie tried a solo effort for Technical, but Luxton rushed out of goal and beat, him for the ball. St Albans took charge, and Holland further increased the score. The final whistle sounded with play in midfield. ST ALBANS .... FOUR TECHNICAL ONE Referee: Mr M. Bugg. FOURTH GRADE. West Christchurch 31, beat Technical B 2- Referee: Mr C. Bishop.
