TO-DAY’S COMPETITIONS. The various competition fixtures were continued to-day. With the grounds heavy the play was of a forward nature. Hornby ea.ily, the wlmv-.s showing to advantage their forwards. Quicke and G.' Falgar got uv.vay, and the latter scored for Banders to goal. A fast rußh saw Kelly over, outsprinting the Addington backs. Kin ley converted. A loose rush ended irt Kin ley forcing his way over, but he missed the kick. Linwood were now ahead b.v 14 to 13 and excitement ran high. A penalty for offside was missed by Sanders, but Falgar put his side ahead by a pot from the field. ADDINGTON . . . FIFTEEN LIN WOOD . FOURTEEN. Mr J. J. Stevens was referee. KAIAPOI v. AVOOLSTON. Tho Kaiapoi forwards carried play to the Woolston twenty-five, the home team being penalised. Lynakey placed a goal. A useful run by F. Stapiey and Thompson improved the position lor the home t*am, but good tackling by tno Kaiapoi backs slopped a hard rush. Harris made a fine opening for his baoks and F. a tuple? buret through but lost a fine chance by kicking high, and Lynskey relieved. Thompson led the Woolston norwards to the Kaiapoi twenty-five, but Nesbitt saved just before half-time sounded, with the score:— Kaiapoi 2, Woolston 0. Woolston were aggressive on resuming play, with penalties numerous. C. Stapley marking. B. Stapley placed a goal. Beck nicely turned a hard rush by the Woolstou backs, and Turnbull, cutting off a passing rush, sent to Ferris, who cut in Julian and Nisbett stopping a score with’ safe tackling.
