RAILWAY NOTICES. RACES AT ASHBURTON. HOLIDAY Excursion Ticket* will be issued to Ashburton from Christchurch. Timaru, Springburn, Methven and intermediate stations on 18th and 19th MAY. by trains arriving at Ashburton up to 11.0 a.m., available for return up to 21et May. Excursion tickets will NOT be av&ilale by the express train which leaves Christchurch for Invercargill at 8.50 a.m. on 19th May. On 18th and J9th May special train, taking passengers from Christchurch and Rakaia, and stopping at Ashburton Saleyards Siding to set down, will leave Christchurch at 9.5 a.m., Rakaia 10.10. and arrive Ashburton 10.45 a.m. Return train, picking tip at Saleyards Siding, will leave Ashburton 4.10 p.ru., Saleyards Riding 4.40 jp.xn. On 18th May this train takes passengers for Rakaia, Duneandel and Christchurch only, and on 19th May it ta-kea passengers for stations north of Droll the Races are postponed the special trains will NOT run. On 18th May the afternoon train Sshburton to Christchurch will start at 4.45 p.m., and on 19th May at 6.10 p.m. It will piok up at Ashburton Saleyards Siding. Fares from Christchurch to Ashburton Saleyards Siding or Ashburton, return (including 2s for Course admission) 16s first class. 12s second class, available only by the 9.5 a.m. special from Christchurch on 18th and 19th May. and for return up t,o 21st May.
