ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
NATIVE KILLED. (Per Press Association.) GISBORNE. May 12. A Native named Whare Putaka Maknrini, aged thirty-five was thrown from a horse and killed at Jerusalem; He was a married man. SUICIDE BY HANGING. (Per Press Association.) CARTERTON, May 12. Edward Reading, a farmer at Waihakeke. aged fifty seven, hanged him self early this morning, utilising a legrope. There is no reason apparent for the act. SHEEPFARMER'S DEATH. (Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, May 12. At the inquest concerning the death John William Price, a slieepfarmer of Otoko, who was found dead witn a gunshot wound in his chest and a rifle lying beside him. it was shown that he had gone out to shoot a dog and, it is presumed, tripped on rough ground, causing the rifle to discharge. The jury returned an open verdict.
