CHRISTCHURCH WORKING MEN’S CLUB. The annual meeting of the Draughts and t hee* section of the Christchurch Working Men's Club was held last- night. Mr G. Brown, president, was in the chair, and there was u satisfactory attendance of members. Mr Brown in his annual report thanked the members for their support during the past year, and congratulated the club on its success in inter-club games. He said that he regretted that several promising players were rather diffident about play- I ing in tournaments, but they should re- I member that members of other clubs were j equally diffident and they should also 1 bear in mind tho old adage.
