“AXX’S FINISH.” Margarita Father, who is one of the screen s most versatile actresses, undoubtedly gives her very best performance in the highly exciting 1 omancc entitled “ Ann’s. Finish,” which is now allowing at "the Strand. ihe picture is adapted trom the particularly •accessful stage play oi the same name, and which bus appeared no less than four times in New York alone. Miss Fisher also pidwing in the stage rendering. The story is an enchanting romance, and denis with the daring theft of a valuable pearl necklace which is stolen from Avxra’s neck whilst she is asleep in a chair. The appearance of a young man with a flashlight • caught in a house at dfeari of night, would certainly suggest designs, but when the occupant of tlite room is a young and beautiful lady wsfch her hero in hiding, one begins to winder what might happen in the eireHmistances. The scene is a select yotivig lady’s hoarding school, and it may lit imagined what confusion ix entailed' through the burglar, the night alarm and ;» winsome girl who hides the burglar tinder the bed because “he lookeu nice.” There is nothing short 4d perfection in Miss Fisher’s interpretation of Ann. and the romance that it pays to he kind, even though aucli kindness extends to a burglar. There is action in every reel. The s«tx>nd feature is a George T,oane Tucker jiroduetion through Paramount Pictures entitled “ Ladies Must Live ” ami starring Betty Corapson. It is a tale of these who plav with life, ami ihos® who are life’s, playthings- The story sounds the depths of the human .heart , and scales the heights of the human soul. There are two thousand feet of laughter in the Broad wav comedy “ Rented Troubles.” An Illustrated Topical Budget completes a very fine programme.
