RED RUSSIA.
DIVISION IN SOVIET. TROTSKY AND THE JEWS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright “ The Times ” Service. (Received May 2, 9.55 a.m.) RIGA, May 1. Trotsky is bidding seriously for the dictatorship of the Soviet. He is supported by the Jewish elements who form an overwhelming majority of the prominent Communists. Nevertheless anti-Semitism is becoming more and more threatening and is invading Communist ranks. Trotsky’s ambitions are forcing Krassin, Tchiteherin and others into an opposition faction containing practically no Jews, thus crystallising the Communists into two distinct camps—Jews and no-Jews. Jews control the Oheka and the army. There are constant war scares, but it is believed that war is the last thing Trotsky wants, as it would almost inevitably lead to the total collapse of the Communist regime.
